The China-Japan-Korea Asian Bass Fishing Tournament (ABF) ended successfully at the international lure fishing base in Dawenhe, Laiwu, Shandong.
The contestants are the top 34 professional players from China, Japan and Korea. Among them, the Japanese contestants are the top 11 professional fishermen of JB TOP 50; the Chinese contestants are the China Bass Fishing Club Super League (CCB). The top 5 outstanding players selected in the finals and 14 domestic contracted fishing players; the Korean contestants are the top 3 outstanding players and 1 contracted fishermen who won in Korea Bass Pro Association. This event not only promotes the exchanges between China, Japan and Korea, but also promotes the development and improvement of the Asian lure fishing sport in Asia.

On May 12, 2018, I participated in the China-Japan-Korea Asian Cup professional squid competition. I was lucky and won the championship. I also saw the famous Japanese fishermen such as Daisuke Aoki and Ken Fukushima who I especially liked. Seeing their methods of fishing, especially the basic skills of throwing, the level is too high. I learned a lot during the two days of competition, so I summed up the experience of the event this time.
On the first day of the game on May 12, there was no wind. The first fishing spot that I selected after the start of the game was a sharp corner of the original old pier. When I was on a fishing test on May 11, I used a hard bait in this position, and I encountered fish for three times. The fish bite very lightly and I didn't catch it at the time. This time, I used a spinning reel to match the four-cent soft plastic worms on the shore. I actually met the fish twice in a row. The third time I waited until the line went more than a meter to raise up the fishing rod. When I caught the fish at the beginning of the game has increased a lot of confidence of me.
Then I went straight to the village on the right hand side of the bridge and began to fish with a five-cent soft plastic worm, and soon I was able to catch the quantity. The same fishing mode, until I passed the small willow tree on the cliff, and then I began to search back, the first day of fishing is basically in the middle of the reservoir. A total of twelve fish were caught, but unfortunately none of the fish had one kilogram. After weighing, the first day was ranked 11th and the total weight of the five fish was 4.542 kg.
When I returned to the hotel in the evening and sorted out the fishing set, I also deeply reflected how I did not catch the big fish. Is it that I am fishing too slowly?
The next morning, the Japanese side announced a heavy news, Daisuke Aoki violated the rule and canceled the results of this competition. It’s a pity. I wanted to see how he would deal with the fish of the day, so I had no chance. I especially regret it.
In the two-day competition, my starting number was 18th, so I started in the middle. After the start of the game, most of the fishermen chose to go to upstream for fishing. The dam was only Mr. Shen and a group of Japanese fishermen. They were all close to the dock. My first fishing spot chose the location of the pumping room on the west side of the dam. I still used a five-cent soft plastic worm. When the first shot was about to be lifted up and ready to be thrown again, the fish rushed to the bait, and the fish flew directly onto the boat. The fish was not very big. Then I began to use four-inch senko with 0.9 grams of lead for fishing along the dam shore, the second, third, and fourth are yesterday's returning fish, all over the kilogram. Afterwards, fish were caught one after another, and a total of twelve fish were caught.
At about 12 noon, I changed to the gravel shore of the road next to the highway bridge, but there was no fish. So I continued to switch the fishing spot, and there was no fish in the middle of the high bridge. As I saw too many boats in the upper reaches, I immediately returned to the dam along the way to fish to the end of the game, and no fish were caught.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the game was over. My total weighing was 5.216 kg. I won the championship with a total score of 9.758 kg for two days.
In this competition, I realized the gap with the Japanese fishing players. The basic skills of the throwing are not at the same level as they are, and the method of controlling the bait is even worse. Recognizing the shortcomings, I have to practice well in the future. This time I mainly rely on the advantages of familiarity with the venue to achieve results.
