Competition Rules:
- The competition will use a non-seeded format with free positioning. Participants must take their positions before the competition starts.
- The barbs must be flattened. Fish caught with barbs will not be counted. (Treble hooks and double hooks are allowed for hard baits.) A double-hook setup is permitted, but only one hook is allowed for Alabama rigs. Violations will result in a 10-point deduction.
- The use of lures (soft baits, hard baits) is restricted during the competition. The use of feed, live bait, or dead bait is strictly prohibited. Participants caught using these will be disqualified from the competition.
- Fish must be handled with a landing net or fish gripper and must be confirmed and recorded by the judge. If the fish is too large to lift, the judge will come to verify and record the score. Participants are not allowed to touch the fish or remove the hook before recording (unhooking while moving is not a violation). Any actions that involve grabbing the fish by hand, letting the fish fly, or dragging the fish causing it to touch the ground are strictly prohibited, will not be recorded, and will result in a 10-point deduction.
- Participants are prohibited from entering the water. A first violation will result in a warning and a 10-point deduction. A second violation will result in disqualification with no refund of the registration fee.
- Participants must wear the official vest and hat provided by the competition.
Scoring and Ranking:
Participants will be ranked according to the number of fish they catch.
In case of a tie in the number of fish caught, a 10-minute additional fishing period will be used to determine the ranking. The participant who catches a fish first during this period (the fish must be in the landing net to count) will be ranked higher.
If the tie cannot be resolved by the additional fishing period, a precision throw-off (casting contest) will be used to determine the final ranking.
